The Beginnings: How Calamores Was Born from the Joy (and Chaos) of Parenthood
How and Why we started Calamores

Becoming a parent is one of life’s most extraordinary experiences: it’s joyful, challenging, and completely transformational. In our younger years, we tend to focus on ourselves: building careers, nurturing friendships, chasing passions, and dreaming about the future. But the moment you find out you’re expecting, suddenly your priorities shift. You start thinking not just about your own needs, but more and more about the life you're bringing into the world.
While we may be biologically wired to care for our little ones, that doesn’t mean it’s always easy. The early days of parenthood can be overwhelming. In the middle of feeding, soothing, cleaning and working, it’s easy to lose touch with who you were before you became “Mom” or “Dad.” But over time, something beautiful happens—you begin to rediscover who you are, not just as a parent, but as a whole person. You remember the things that bring you joy, and maybe even find new passions along the way.
Once we stepped out of the “Survival Mode”, we reflected on our relationship and remembered why we chose each other, long before our child came along. We craved time to connect, to enjoy each other’s company, and to be more than just co-managers of a household.
But making time for ourselves? That was easier said than done. So we created Calamores, a space where parents could take a breather and focus on themselves—guilt-free. Whether it’s drinks with friends, catching a basketball game, joining a fitness class, or singing your heart out at karaoke night, Calamores is about creating small but meaningful moments of Me Time and We Time.
We believe that when parents care for themselves, they show up as their best selves—for their children, their partners, and their communities. And the kids feel it too. They get to see their parents laughing, dancing in the kitchen, and embracing life with joy and energy. That’s powerful.
So if you’re a parent looking to recharge, reconnect, and rediscover yourself—welcome. You belong here. Let’s make space for joy, together.
