Calamores wants to promote local businesses and events where parents can spend quality, uninterrupted time with partners and friends, but the “Calamores Movement” is not exclusively for socializing. When you have kids to care for, you have to carve out quality time whenever you can! So why not consider “me-time” as part of the general parent self-care routine? One example is your exercise routine.

Ioana and I both enjoy working out and exercising. Despite this commonality, we prefer completely different types of workouts. While Ioana is more cross-training and lifting-centric, I prefer nice, long cardio workouts, primarily outdoors or in the pool. This difference in workout routine, my friend, is a moment for celebration.

For me, running and biking for 30-60 minutes is not only great in terms of physical health, but also for your mental health. Spend time enjoying the sun and breeze, while filling our lungs with fresh air. Enjoy the ever changing views without having to think about work or kids. Unwind mentally, and get stronger at the same time. What could be better?

While I spend my time daydreaming on my bike, Ioana generously looks after our daughter. When it is her turn to exercise, I take over parental duties. Win-win. Your special me-time does not have to be limited to the shower or bathroom anymore!
